4.2-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental early Sunday, Feb. 6

(Eagle News) — A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Sunday, Feb. 6. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake hit at 4:12 a.m. Its epicenter was 268 kilometers southeast of Balut Island. The depth of focus was 34 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.9-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News) — A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Friday, Feb. 4. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake hit at 9:43 a.m. It had its epicenter 487 kilometers southeast of Balut Island. The depth of focus was 240 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.  

4.5-magnitude quake strikes off Cagayan

(Eagle News) — A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Cagayan on Thursday, Feb. 3. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake hit at 12:47 p.m. Its epicenter was 49 kilometers northwest of Babuyan Island. The depth of focus was 80 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

Baguio Mayor Magalong tests positive for COVID-19 anew

Customs bureau: Over P36 million worth of smuggled cigarettes seized in abandoned warehouse in Zamboanga City

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Customs has seized over P36 million worth of smuggled cigarettes in an abandoned warehouse in Zamboanga City. Ifugao under a COVID-19 alert level 3 starting Feb. 1: Palace

(Eagle News) — Ifugao will be under a COVID-19 alert level 3 starting Feb. 1. According to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, the alert level in the province will be in effect until Feb. 15. PHIVOLCS monitors 13 quakes at Taal in 24 hours

(Eagle News) — Thirteen quakes were monitored at Taal in 24 hours. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the earthquakes at the volcano, which remains on alert level 2, included one volcanic tremor which lasted three minutes long. (Eagle News) — A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck off Leyte early Friday, Jan. 28. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 5:44 a.m. The epicenter was eight kilometers southwest of Capoocan. According to PHIVOLCS, the instrumental intensity was the following: Intensity IV – Ormoc City Intensity II – Alangalang, Leyte No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
