PHIVOLCS: 99 quakes monitored in Taal in 24 hours

(Eagle News)– Ninety-nine volcanic earthquakes were monitored in Taal in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quakes at the volcano, which remains on alert level 3, included 90 volcanic tremors lasting one to 11 minutes and a weak background tremor. DFA: Cotabato City consular office operations suspended “until further notice”

(Eagle News) — The Department of Foreign Affairs’ consular office in Cotabato City is temporarily suspending operations. In an advisory, the DFA said the suspension “until further notice” was due to “issues concerning the Cotabato Consular Office building.” The department did not elaborate. PNP: P28 million worth of marijuana plants destroyed in Kalinga

(Eagle News) — Authorities destroyed marijuana plants worth P28 million in Kalinga province recently. In a statement, the PNP said the 110,000  fully-grown marijuana plants, estimated to be worth P22 million, and 50,000 grams of marijuana stalks worth P6 million were burned down by authorities in the plantation in Barangay Loccong in Tinglayan Municipality. 4.6-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News) — A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Monday, July 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 8:02 a.m. It had its epicenter 374 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. The depth of focus was 110 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
