PNP: P2.9 million worth of shabu seized in Cebu buy-bust; one arrested

(Eagle News) — Authorities seized P2.9 million worth of shabu in a  buy-bust operation in Cebu on Thursday, May 21, the Philippine National Police said. PHIVOLCS: 169 earthquakes monitored at Taal in 24 hours

(Eagle News) — Over 100 earthquakes were monitored at Taal in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the 169 quakes at the volcano, which remains on alert level 2, included 30 low-frequency volcanic earthquakes and 139 volcanic tremor events with durations of two to  20 minutes. 4.2-magnitude quake hits Zamboanga del Norte early Thursday

(Eagle News) — A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Zamboanga del Norte early Thursday, May 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 3:55 a.m. It had its epicenter 20 kilometers northwest of Sindangan. The depth of focus was one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the 102 quakes at the volcano, which remains on alert level 2, included 16 low-frequency volcanic earthquakes and 86 volcanic tremor events with durations of one to 22 minutes, and low-level background tremor that has persisted since April 8. (Eagle News)–A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Saturday, May 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 11:04 a.m. It had its epicenter 13 kilometers southwest of Calatagan. The depth of focus was 94 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were reported: Intensity II – Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Tagaytay City, Cavite Intensity I – Calatagan, Batangas; San Ildefonso, Bulacan No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

PCG inaugurates first-ever search and rescue base in Siargao
