3.4-magnitude quake hits Negros Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Negros Occidental on Sunday, Nov. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 3:10 a.m., had its epicenter 9 kilometers northwest of Sipalay. It had a depth of 13 kilometers. The following instrumental intensity was reported: Instrumental Intensity: Intensity II – Sipalay City No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

PNP: Over 300,000 individuals affected by “Rolly” in evacuation centers

(Eagle News)–Over 300,000 individuals affected by Typhoon “Ulysses” remain in evacuation centers, the Philippine National Police said. 3.8-magnitude quake hits Batangas early Saturday

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas early Saturday, Nov. 14. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 2:15 a.m., had its epicenter 16 kilometers southwest of Calatagan. It had a depth of 126 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

Northeast monsoon affecting N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–The northeast monsoon is affecting Northern Luzon. (Eagle News)–A heavy rainfall advisory has been raised over parts of Northern Luzon due to the tail-end of a cold front. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said a yellow warning level has been raised over Babuyan Island, Camiguin Island, and Cagayan (Gonzaga, Santa Ana). (Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck off Masbate on Friday, Nov. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 8:10 a.m., had its epicenter 25 kilometers northwest of Cataingan. It had a depth of 24 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

PHIVOLCS: 7 rockfall events, sulfur dioxide emission monitored at Mayon but no magmatic eruption imminent

Thunderstorm advisory raised over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)-A thunderstorm advisory has been raised over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine  Atmospheric  Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over portions of Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Occidental within the next one to two hours.
