Olympian skater wins Asian Open Figure Skating Competition

MANILA, Philippines, August 10 (Eagle News) — Filipino Olympian skater Michael Christian Martinez won the Asian Open Figure Skating competion which was held in Bangkok, Thailand. He won 188.53 in the Senior Men’s Category, beating skaters from Japan, Australia and others. Sjostrom sets women’s 100 meters butterfly world record

AUGUST 1 (Reuters) — Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom set a world record for the women’s 100 meters butterfly at the world championships in Kazan, Russia on Sunday (August 2). Sjostrom’s time of 55.74 seconds in the semi-final broke the previous record of 55.98 set by Dana Vollmer of the United States at the 2012 London Olympics.
