(Eagle News)–Mandaluyong has suspended all afternoon classes on Friday, Aug. 2, due to the inclement weather. The suspension, which applies to all levels in both public and private schools, was announced by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office on Twitter. The  weather bureau has said  monsoon rains will prevail in parts of the country today as the southwest monsoon affects Western Luzon.

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude quake hit Sarangani early Tuesday, June 18. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 83 kilometers southwest of Kiamba at 4:34 a.m. The depth of focus was 479 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
