More than 300 families affected by floods in Cagayan de Oro

More than 300 families in Cagayan de Oro were affected by strong winds and rains brought by a low pressure area which caused flooding in some villages on Sunday, Aug. 31. The City Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has reported that over 300 families were temporarily sheltered in evacuation areas due to the flash floods. The affected villages in Cagayan de Oro were Carmen, Kauswagan, Bulua and Calaanan.

Leyte, still recovering from the onslaught of Yolanda, was not spared Typhoon Glenda. Water overflowed in the Port of Baybay, and trees near residential houses were felled by the strong winds. Around 10 people were reported killed due to strong winds, waves and rains spawned by Typhoon “Glenda”, government authorities reported Wednesday.
