(Eagle News ) — The incoming Duterte administration could declare a ceasefire agreement with the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) before President-elect Rodrigo Duterte delivers his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 25.
This was what 1-BAP Partylist Representative and incoming Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said, as he bared the possibility of a ceasefire being declared in the third week of July.
Recently, Bello, along with incoming Presidential Peace Adviser Jess Dureza and former Agrarian Reform secretary Hernani Braganza, met with the leaders of CPP-National Democratic Front to re-open the peace talks.
