CGMA files new petition for bail

Congressman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is set to file a new petition for bail before the Sandiganbayan right after the recent statement of the United Nations working group on arbitrary detention claiming that Arroyo’s continued detention is a violation of her human rights and is illegal under international law.

According to Arroyo’s Lawyer Larry Badon, their new petition was based on the United Nations’ recommendations.

Badon appealed to the court that the Congresswoman should be granted
bail while she is still under trial for plunder for alleged misuse of Intelligence Funds in Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
