(Eagle News) — The Chamber of Mines of the Philippines thanked the Commission on Appointments for what it said was its “speedy resolution” of Regina Lopez’s nomination as environment secretary.
“(We are) thankful to the Commission…,” COMP vice president Ronald Recidoro said.
In an interview with Net 25’s, Sa Ganang Mamamayan, Recidoro added that the country needs a secretary who understands environmental issues and natural resource management.
He added that this was not the end but the beginning of a chapter for the mining industry.
“We will have to work doubly hard to uplift the industry,” he said.
