China hopes N.Korea launch will not worsen tensions

BEIJING, China (AFP) — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called for calm Wednesday after North Korea carried out a ballistic missile test launch towards Japan, Jiji Press reported.

“We hope that (the situation) will not become more tense and complicated,” he told reporters in Tokyo ahead of talks with his counterparts from Japan and South Korea, Jiji Press reported.
