China should take stronger action on entry of illegal drugs in the PHL, says US Ambassador

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — United States Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim said that China should undertake a stronger action to stop the entry and shipment of illegal drugs to the Philippines.

Kim said that majority of illegal drugs entering the Philippines came from China, and that China should enact more laws to prevent illegal drug shipping.

When asked to comment on the drug problem of the Philippines, Kim said that if China is a true friend of Philippines, the Chinese government should stop the shipment of drugs to the country.

“I wouldn’t want to comment on whether China is a true friend of the Philippines or not. But I will note that my understanding is that most of the precursors that go into shabu come from China,” Kim said.
