Member-states of the Association of South East Asian Nations stand to greatly benefit from China’s Belt and Road Initiative, especially in the infrastructure sector, according to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez.
Dominguez also said that the initiative from China through the Belt and Road Initiative will also benefit not only the economy of ASEAN countries but also the nations of Southeast Asia.
The Finance secretary also said that it will help make regional integration and economic cooperation more intensive.
“The nations of Southeast Asia stand to benefit hugely from the BRI,” Dominguez told a forum, adding that the Belt and Road Initiative complements ASEAN’s efforts at regionalization,” Dominguez said.
“It will help make regional integration and economic cooperation more intensive,” he added.
