Chinese Consul General Song Rong Hua, his deputy and a senior staff member in Chinese consulate in Cebu were shot at a birthday lunch in a popular restaurant there on Wednesday, October 21.
The consul-general was able to survive his gunshot wounds but Deputy Consul General Sun Shan and Finance Officer Hui Li died from while being treated in hospital.
Meanwhile, the authorities identified the suspects as Li Quing Liang and his wife Guo Jing.
The two are already in police custody; however, they both invoked diplomatic immunity.
