MANILA, June 22 (PNA) — Operatives from the Coast Guard District Northeastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) and the Aparri-Philippine National Police confiscated P40,000 worth of illegal drugs during operations in Cagayan province on Friday.
In a statement on Sunday, Cmdr. Armand Balilo, Coast Guard spokesperson, said the prohibited narcotics were detected in an LBC package claimed by Paulalyn N. Magtalas, 21, a resident of Barangay Macanaya, Aparri.
The drugs were sniffed by Coast Guard K-9 units.
Investigation revealed that the illegal narcotics were forwarded from Manila to Aparri via LBC.
Magtalas was nabbed while claiming the package. She is now under the custody of the Aparri-PNP for filing of appropriate charges. (PNA)
