Col. Erwin Neri takes charge of Task Force Davao

(Eagle News)– Colonel Erwin Bernard Neri on Thursday (September 8) assumed his new role as chief of Task Force Davao at a turnover ceremony in Davao City.

Neri was chosen by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte based on a shortlist submitted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Duterte sought the removal of former Task Force Davao commander Colonel Henry Robinson after the Roxas night market blast which killed 14 and injured about 70.

In a news conference, Duterte discussed with Neri the security adjustments and protocols in the city after the blast, including the deployment of permanent security personnel at the night market.

“I told them to discuss what needs to be done in order to improve the security measures in the night market and I told them also to adjust, kung mas maraming tao, mas maraming nagbabantay,” she said.
“But I told them also not to have a reaction na lahat na lang tao ilalagay sa night market, wala ng tao sa ibang lugar,” Duterte added.
