(Eagle News) — Commission on Elections Chairman Andres Bautista has filed criminal charges against his wife.
In a chance interview on Wednesday, Bautista said among the charges he filed against Patricia Bautista were robbery, extortion and grave coercion.
He said the charges were filed before the Taguig Prosecutors Office.
Bautista refused to give more details, saying this was a private and legal matter that should not be discussed.
The Comelec chief’s wife has said he had over P1 billion in ill-gotten wealth.
Senator Tito Sotto has filed a resolution urging the Senate blue ribbon committee to look into the allegations.
Rep. Harry Roque has filed a similar resolution in the House of Representatives.
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre has also ordered an investigation.
