DepEd ensures educational continuity in Typhoon Lando-affected schools

The Department of Education (DepEd) continues to facilitate the immediate resumption of classes in areas affected by Typhoon Lando (international name Koppu).

DepEd field offices sent engineers and staff to expedite rapid assessment and provisions of appropriate interventions. In addition to this, DepEd is closely monitoring the schools which are still being used as evacuation centers to ensure the orderly resumption of classes.

In response to the incurred damages, DepEd will be providing financial assistance to the affected schools to support clean-up and minor repairs. On top of this, it will support the establishment of temporary learning spaces, especially in schools with severely-damaged classrooms in Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Benguet, Pangasinan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Cagayan, Quirino, Tarlac, La Union, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Zambales.

DepEd welcomes donations for learners and personnel such as teaching and learning kits. Please directly coordinate with the Adopt-a-School Program at (02) 638-8637 or 39, or email at externalpartnerships@deped.gov.ph. (DepEd)
