DFA-ASEANA applicants with confirmed appointments to be entertained in Parañaque
(Eagle News) — All Department of Foreign Affairs consular offices and Temporary Off-Site Passport Services (TOPS) in the National Capital Region will be closed from August 6 to 20 during the re-imposed enhanced community quarantine.
Applicants with appointments for apostille and authentication services at consular offices in NCR, particularly in Ali Mall Cubao, SM Manila, SM Megamall, and Metro Gaisano Alabang, from August 6 to 20, on the other hand, will keep the original dates and times of their appointments, but will be accommodated at DFA-Aseana only.
The DFA said DFA-ASEANA applicants with confirmed appointments will also still be entertained.
No walk-ins, though, will be allowed.
According to the DFA, passport applicants affected by the temporary closure of DFA’s Consular Offices and TOPS facilities during this ECQ period will receive separate email advisories informing them of their new appointment schedule.
“Those with emergency and urgent medical travel needs may send an email request to [email protected]with copies of their identity (current passport or if new applicant, a government-issued ID) and proof of their emergency travel. Possession of a flight ticket in itself is not considered urgent,” the DFA said.
The department said applicants requesting urgent appointments for apostille and authentication services, meanwhile, may send an email to [email protected] with copies of their documents to be apostilled or authenticated, copies of their identity (current passport or valid government-issued ID) and proof of their emergency.
The DFA said the plan of operations may be “subject to revisions depending on guidelines from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases without prior notice.”
“DFA will update its advisory as may be necessary,” the department said.
“The DFA requests the public’s understanding and cooperation as it continues to limit the number of applicants allowed inside its premises at any given time to reduce the risks for both applicants and personnel due to continuing COVID-19 concerns,” it added.
The national government announced the re-imposition of the ECQ in Metro Manila on those dates following the Department of Health’s confirmation of a Delta variant local transmission.
