(Eagle News) — COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos are now at 19878 after two more cases were reported.
According to recent Department to Foreign Affairs data, three additional recoveries also pushed the COVID-19 recoveries among Filipinos abroad to 12056.
No additional death was reported, which means the COVID-19 death toll remains at 1194.
“Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of COVID-19 recoveries saw a slight decrease to 60.65%. Meanwhile fatalities and those under treatment increased to 6.01% and 33.34%, respectively,” the department said.
Based on DFA data, the Middle East and Africa are still the regions with the most COVID-19 cases, recoveries and deaths among Filipinos abroad, at 11350, 6293, and 789, respectively.
The Americas have the least COVID-19 cases and recoveries, at 984 and 627, respectively.
The Asia Pacific region has the least COVID-19 deaths among Filipinos outside the country, at 33.
The DFA has said it has repatriated over 400,000 Filipinos since the start of repatriation efforts in February 2020 so far.
