(Eagle News) — The killing of South Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo by rogue policemen is not on the agenda when President Rodrigo Duterte visits South Korea from June 3 to 5.
Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Strategic Communication and Research Ernesto Abella said, however, that if the issue was raised, the President “will reassure (South Koreans) that everything that needs to be done is being done and that we will assure that justice will be done.”
Jee was abducted by policemen who barged inside his house in Pampanga in October 2016 in the guise of an anti-drug operation.
He was later killed by the suspects in the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame.
The incident prompted President Duterte to suspend the anti-drug operations.
The suspects in Jee’s killing have been charged with kidnapping and homicide.
