DFA issues public advisory on death of 74 year-old OFW in Lebanon

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has issued a public advisory on Monday (December 19) on the demise of a 74-year old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Lebanon, asking the relatives to coordinate with them so the OFW’s body could be flown home.

Azucena Billones, a 74 year-old OFW in Lebanon died on December 9, because of cancer.

DFA requests the public’s assistance in locating Billones’ relatives.

Before she died, she said that she has a daughter, Myrna Obias, who is a resident of Barrio Bulo, Carles, Iloilo.   She had also mentioned that the last known residence of her sister, Trinidad Billones, is in Brgy. Commonwealth, Fairview, Quezon City.

The corpse of Billones is still in the custody of Lebanon and waiting for some procedures to be done before transporting her coffin to the Philippines. DFA sends its sympathies and condolences to the family of OFW Billones.
