(Eagle News) — No Filipinos were hurt in the toxic gas attack in Syria last month, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
Charge d’Affaires Alex Lamadrid told the DFA main office that all 85 Filipinos in Aleppo were safe.
An estimated 100 people were affected by the attack believed to be perpetrated by rebels on Nov. 24.
According to Lamadrid, the Philippine Embassy in Damascus has reiterated its warning for members of the Filipino community in Syria to “remain vigilant and to continuously monitor developments.”
In particular, he said they were advised to avoid the areas of Jamyet Alzahraa, Al-Khalidyeh and Al-Neil Street in Aleppo, which had been targeted by rebels.
