(Eagle News)—The Department of Foreign Affairs has raised an Alert Level 4 over Tripoli and nearby areas.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Locsin made the announcement in a Tweet on Wednesday, May 1.
According to Locsin, the alert, which calls for a mandatory repatriation of Overseas Filipino Workers covered by the same, applied to the Libyan capital and “100 kilometers around.”
Locsin said he informed President Rodrigo Duterte about the raising of the alert yesterday.
“More mortar fire, more Filipinos hurt. AL 4 is mandatory evacuation but we cannot compel—and rightly so. What is mandatory is that DFA stays in Tripoli until last OFW goes—& then it stays,” Locsin said.
