DFA: Two Filipinos killed in Paris fire

(Eagle News) — Two Filipinos were among those killed in a fire that razed an apartment building in Paris, France on Tuesday, Feb. 5.

The Department of Foreign Affairs made the announcement after receiving confirmation from the Crisis Center of the Paris Prefecture that the couple were among ten killed in the blaze on Rue Erlanger at the 16th Arrondissement of the city.

Earlier, the embassy had already been assisting the couple’s daughter, who had sought help to find her parents.

Ma. Theresa Lazaro, ambassador to France, said four other Filipinos survived the fire.

She said the embassy would extend any assistance to the kin of the victims.
