(Eagle News)–Over 70 barangay officials will be charged before the Office of the Ombudsman next week.
Interior Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs Martin Diño said in a radio interview that these barangay chairs would face administrative complaints for their failure to submit a Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council report.
“Nasa batas yan limang taon na ang nakalilipas, dapat ginawa na nila yan,” Diño said.
He said a list of barangay officials who did not organize the council as required by law would also be released.
The list is apart from the list of barangay officials allegedly engaged in drug activties, to be made public by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
PDEA said so far, 211 people were on the list.
