(Eagle News) — The Department of the Interior and Local Government has installed Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa III as Iloilo’s new mayor.
This was after the Ombudsman served on Monday the dismissal order on Jed Mabilog after he was found guilty of serious dishonesty for failing to explain the increase of around P9 million in his wealth in a year’s time.
Espinosa will serve the remainder of Mabilog’s term until 2019.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said Mabilog was a narcopolitician.
Mabilog, who is abroad after he filed a sick leave so he could allegedy rest after being diagnosed with diabetes, has denied all the allegations against him.
