DILG says needs of 70,000 Marawi evacuees being met

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The number of evacuees fleeing Marawi City has reached 70, 000.

Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Catalino Cuy said that there were 36, 423 evacuees who are now staying in Lanao del Norte while 25,506 evacuees fled to Iligan.  Another 4,761 are in Cagayan De Oro City while other evacuees fled to the provinces of Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental and Misamis Occidental.

Cuy said that the Department of the Interior and Local Government would make sure that the needs of the evacuees were met.
