(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday appointed a new Agrarian Reform acting secretary.
Interior Undersecretary for Operations John Castriciones was designated to the post formerly held by Rafael Mariano until his appointment was denied by the powerful Commission on Appointments.
Castriciones was reportedly one of the three undersecretaries instrumental in the dismissal of then-Interior Secretary Mike Sueno.
Castriciones, Jesus Hinlo, and Emily Padilla reportedly wrote a letter to the President, asking him to look into allegations Sueno was enriching himself in office.
Castriciones, in particular, cited the purchase of firetrucks from Austria for P20 million, even when he said there were cheaper options.
