(Eagle News)– Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Monday hinted that President Duterte already picked someone to be the country’s ambassador to the USA.
“Meron na. I will wait [for the announcement]. Akala ko kanina i-announce niya eh… Hindi ako. Tinanggihan ko na iyan,” Lorenzana told reporters in a chance interview.
“Yeah, military din… Hindi siya [former Gen. Hermogenes Esperon]. He will remain as the National Security Adviser. I-announce naman iyan ni Presidente,” he explained.
Lorenzana was a former military attaché to the US, but he declined to accept the offer of President Duterte to become the envoy to the US. because he already wanted to settle in the Philippines.
