“DODONG” has slowed down as it continues to move in a West Northwest direction

MAY 8 (PAGASA) — The weather bureau on its Friday (May 8) forecast recorded that around 4:00 AM today, the center of Typhoon “DODONG” was located based on all available data at 595 Km east of Borongan, Eastern Samar (11.9°N, 130.9°E) with maximum winds of 150 Kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 Kph.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) typhoon “DODONG” was forecast to move west northwest at 17Kph.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said that rains and gusty winds will be experienced in Northern Samar, Polillo Island and Bicol Region. cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced in Central Visayas, Caraga, Davao, Northern Mindanao and rest of Eastern Visayas. partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be over over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over the eastern section of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.
