MANILA, Philippines, July 6 (Eagle News) — The second case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Corona Virus (MERS-CoV) in the country has been announced and confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday (July 6) after a foreigner from the Middle East tested positive of the said virus.
According to Health Secretary Janette Garin, the patient has been put in an isolation unit and is being treated at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Muntinlupa City.
The first MERS-CoV case, involving a Filipina nurse, was recorded in the Philippines last February. (Eagle News Service)
