The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that an OFW from China died from a suspected case of bird flu.
According to the DOH, the patient arrived in the country last February 9 and the following day complained of coughs, fever and stomach pain.
Although the OFW consulted doctors on February 11, his condition worsened and died on February 14.
According to the DOH, they are considering avian flu as the patient’s cause of death since he had showed symptoms of the said virus, the fast progression of his illness and also since he had stayed in China.
