(Eagle News)– COVID-19 cases in the Philippines climbed to 1562420 after the Department of Health reported 7186 additional cases.
This was the most additional cases reported in the country since June 13.
Of the total cases, the DOH said 56477 were active.
Of these, 93.8 percent were mild, 1.1 percent asymptomatic, 1.3 percent critical, 2.3 percent severe, and 1.58 percent were moderate.
Recoveries rose to 1478625 including the additional 5672 recoveries.
The death toll is now at 27318 including the additional 72 deaths.
On Tuesday, the Laguna government confirmed it had 18 Delta variant cases in the province.
The DOH had warned about an upsurge in COVID-19 cases due to the variant, which it said could be up to 60 percent more transmissible than the Alpha variant first detected in the United Kingdom.
