(Eagle News) — The Department of Justice has asked the prosecutor whose altercation with Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic enforcers went viral over the Internet to respond to the complaint filed against her.
“We asked prosecutor (Christine Villamora) Estepa to comment on the MMDA complaint, similar to a show-cause order. She will submit shortly,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Wednesday, Aug. 29.
According to Guevarra, the DOJ will then “decide if we should dismiss the complaint outright or formally charge her” as “part of procedural process.”
In the video viewed millions of times in the Estepa was seen arguing with MMDA enforcers who had asked for her license over her illegal parking violation.
MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said Estepa committed at least four violations at that time.
Estepa and her husband, who arrived in in the scene to defend her, later apologized to the MMDA.
