The Department of Justice finally starts preliminary investigation on the case of complex crime of multiple murder and theft against more than 90 individual members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) as well as other private armed groups in connection with the armed encounter in Mamasapano, Maguindanao that resulted in the death of 44 Philippine National Police – Special Action Force commandos. The widows of the 44 fallen PNP-SAF attended said proceeding to attest on their testimonies.
