(Eagle News) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is now studying decreasing the number of skilled Filipino workers deployed abroad.
In a statement, Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the move was due to the shortage of manpower supply in the country.
“We are studying the possibility of decreasing the number of deployment para hindi naman ma-affected yung ating local demand,” the labor secretary said.
Bello also said that many local construction firms were now looking for skilled workers, especially carpenters, electricians, welders, masons, heavy equipment operators and other skilled construction workers.
