MANILA, April 20 – Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said that the Department is setting up one-stop-shops at the Labor Day Job and Career Fairs venues nationwide to provide the documentation and other pre-employment needs of jobseekers.
“The DOLE is setting up one-stop shops for job seekers so they can easily access our free employment facilitation services. These employment facilitation services, such as application support documents, are essential to getting a job,” said Baldoz.
She added that the employment facilitation services include issuance of individual clearances and birth and marriage certificates; enrolment in social security and medical insurance; enrollment in shelter security membership; issuance and renewal of professional licenses; enrolment in BIR for income tax purposes; and application for and issuance of government IDs.
The one-stop shops will be manned by officers and representatives of the National Bureau of Investigation; National Statistics Office; Social Security System; PhilHealth; Pag-IBIG; Professional Regulation Commission; Bureau of Internal Revenue; and Philippine Postal Corporation.
“The 2016 Labor Day celebration is anchored on the theme, “Kinabukasan Sigurado sa Disenteng Trabaho,” which clearly identifies the DOLE’s effort to ensure the future of the workers through decent and productive jobs that will contribute to economic growth,” Baldoz said.
Aside from the free pre-employment services, the one-stop shops also provide free legal services on labor and employment matters and inquiries from lawyers and legal personnel from the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), Bureau of Labor Relations (BLR), National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), DOLE-NCR, and the DOLE Legal Service.
“The team shall also provide information on the Department’s programs and services, particularly on the Labor Laws Compliance System, the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) mechanism, and D.O. 18-A,” Baldoz said.
Just like in previous DOLE Job and Livelihood Fairs, the one-stop shop is one of the more anticipated features of the 2016 Job and Career Fair. (DOLE)
