“Domeng” about to leave PAR but monsoon rains still expected over M. Manila, other parts of country

(Eagle News)–“Domeng” is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility between 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. today, June 10, but will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, resulting in rains in some parts of the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the center of the severe tropical storm was near the borderline of PAR, 855 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes, as of 4 a.m.

“Domeng” is packing maximum sustained winds of  100 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

It is moving northeast at 32 kilometers per hour.

According to Pagasa, as of 5 a.m., light to moderate rains are affecting Metro Manila, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac and Bulacan.

Light rains are expected over Bataan, Laguna,Nueva Ecija, and Cavite within the next three hours.

The Visayas can expect light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms, while Mindanao is expected to have improved weather conditions today, Pagasa said.
