DOT asks public to help with new PHL tourism ad

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Department of Tourism asked the public, specifically netizens, students and professionals, to join the contest for the creation of a new tourism video ad for the Philippines after it cancelled its contract with McCann World Group Philippines.

McCann was the advertising company behind the tourism ad which was allegedly copied from a South African tourism ad.

The minute-long tourism campaign video was unveiled to the public on June 12 entitled “Sights.” It featured a Japanese blind man named M. Uchimura, who was enjoying his stay and experiences in different destinations in the Philippines.

The tourism department said it was looking for original ideas that will promote tourism.
