(Eagle News)–The Department of Transportation announced the addition of two bus routes to help commuters amid the general community quarantine in place.
In a statement, the DOTr said the following routes will be operational starting today, June 2:
Route 5, Angat-Quezon Ave.
Route 28, Dasmariñas-NCR
*Number of authorized units: 151
For route 5, the number of authorized units was 510.
Over 100, or 151 bus units, are allowed to ply route 28.
It is unclear, however, how many the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board deployed given the time constraints.
The bus routes will be added to the 31 rationalized routes already existing since the start of the GCQ.
Metro Manila has been placed under a GCQ, where more industries are allowed to open.
Public transportation, however, is still limited in a bid to curb the spread of the COVID19 virus, which has so far infected over 18000 in the country.
