(Eagle News) — The construction of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 Cavite extension will start on Wednesday, May 8.
The Department of Transportation made the announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday, April 30, eight days before the scheduled construction work.
According to the DOTr, the 11.7-kilometer railway extension project aims to connect Baclaran and Bacoor, Cavite so that the one-and a-half-hour trip is cut down to thirty minutes.
Under the project, eight new stations will be constructed, the DOTr said.
The agency said the DOTr and the Light Rail Manila Corporation aim to complete the project in the fourth quarter of 2021.
