(Eagle News) — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will start the distribution of fuel vouchers to jeepney drivers next month.
According to Transportation Undersecretary Tim Orbos, the vouchers are to help mitigate the effects of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law on drivers.
A Php 2,000 fuel voucher will be given to each driver every month.
In a year, vouchers worth Php 26,000 can be used by each driver for the purchase of diesel.
According to Orbos only legitimate franchise holders will benefit from the program.
Orbos said the subsidies are retroactive.
