The Department of Public Works and Highways reminded their personnel to put into consideration the preservation of historical sites and structures in the implementation of the department’s projects.
DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson said that historical sites and structures should be protected because of their value to the country’s history and heritage.
He added that preservation of historical sites should be considered from the feasibilty study and planning phase to avoid delays during the construction period.
Through Department Order 243, Singson reminded all DPWH directors and engineers to coordinate with the National Historical Institue, the National Museum and the National Commission on Culture and the Arts.
