(Eagle News) — Drug possession charges were filed by the Makati Police against the three lawyers who were arrested during an inspection of a Makati bar on Thursday.
The charges for “constructive possession” of the illegal substances were apart from the charges for violation of an ordinance prohibiting anyone from crossing a police line, for obstruction of justice, and resistance and disobedience to authorities charges filed against Lenie Rocel Rocha, Jan Vincent Soliven, and Romulo Bernard Alarkon.
The three were nabbed at the Time in Manila bar in Barangay Poblacion, Makati City on Thursday.
Over the weekend, a raid in the bar yielded several ecstasy tablets, drug paraphernalia, among others, police said.
At least 30 employees were arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to the bar’s customers.
“As per team leader [of the] SDEU (Station Drug Enforcement Unit) Police Senior Inspector Jeson Vigilla, binastos ang mga pulis natin, yung dalawa lawyers tinatakot ang mga PO1 (Police Officer I),” Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario, Southern Police District director, said in a text message.
“Pumasok sa area ng police line sa loob ng Times Bar na hindi nagpaalam, walang prior coordination, at walang authority,” he added.
