(Eagle News)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, Feb. 11, lashed out at Communist Party of the Philippines founder Jose Maria Sison after he rejected the chief executive’s condition for Communists to stop imposing “revolutionary taxes” for peace talks to resume.
“Gusto niyo patayan lang palagi, tapos mag-dream ka na kailangan ko mag extort kasi yung inyong gobyerno kailangan mabuhay,” Duterte said.
But Duterte denied Sison had his own government in the first place.
“‘Anong gobyerno? P**a** i*a ka,kailan ka pa nagkaroon ng gobyerno?” Duterte asked.
“Ang gobyerno amin…,” Duterte said.
Earlier, Duterte opened up the possibility of resuming peace talks with the rebels on tje condition they stop “extorting.”
In rejecting Duterte’s condition, Sison said the “people’s government needed financial resources for administration and social programs.”
Duterte ended peace talks with rebels in December 2017, citing their alleged atrocities that include the killing of a baby and the killing of soldiers even when talks were ongoing.
