(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday announced he would again extend the term of Philippine National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa.
Duterte made the announcement in a speech in Malacanang.
“(Dela Rosa).. I extended (his) term until April 24. Will extend his term a little bit longer,” Duterte said.
It was unclear up to when Dela Rosa would serve as PNP chief.
Dela Rosa was supposed to retire on January 21 but Duterte extended his term until April.
According to the President, the PNP chief “enjoys my trust and confidence.”
