(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte has agreed to certify the Bangsamoro Basic Law as urgent.
Apart from the BBL, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said in a statement that the chief executive has agreed to certify the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act as such.
According to Abella, the President made this position known during his latest meeting with the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council in Malacañang on Wednesday night.
That was the third LEDAC meeting, which Abella said lasted for three hours.
Earlier, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front protested the non-inclusion of the BBL in the list of 14 priority measures of Congress during the LEDAC meeting last August 29.
The chief executive later met the MILF leaders and promised them that the measure would be given priority in his department.
The first package of the tax reform bill was already certified as urgent by the President in May.
