(Eagle News)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday, March 3, said he was confident the Moro National Liberation Front’s Nur Misuari, who is facing cases here, would return from his trip abroad.
According to Duterte, Misuari was a “true Tausug.”
As such, he said he “would never allow that he be buried in a foreign land.”
“Kinausap ko ang pulis, pati military, pati ang korte na palabasin muna siya. Ako ang nag-guarantee na he will come back,” Duterte said.
“Sigurado ako niyan. That’s why he will come back and help us build a nation,” Duterte added.
Misuari, who met President Duterte on Monday, Feb. 25, has been charged with two counts each of graft and malversation.
He was allowed to leave the country to attend the 48th Session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Council of Foreign Ministers in the UAE, and the 14th Session of the Parliamentary Union of Islamic Cooperation Member States in Morocco.
