(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte clarified he did not fire Mocha Uson as Communications assistant secretary.
The President made the announcement in a video posted on Uson’s Facebook page.
“Siya yung nagresign,” Duterte said, when asked about reports circulating Uson had been fired.
In her resignation letter, Uson said she was quitting her post to pave the way for the passage of the P1.47-billion proposed budget of the Presidential Communications Operations Office.
The proposed budget was eventually passed.
Duterte also said he would support Uson’s political plans.
Earlier, Uson said she might run for a seat in Congress in 2019.
